Meet the Chefs

Miguel

Zulma

Less than eight years ago Miguel and Zulma quit their day jobs, packed up their bags, and made the decision to relocate from Tucson, Arizona to Austin, Texas.

Their recipe for success includes authentic tortillas imported directly from Agua Prieta, Sonora and steamed buns imported directly from the southside of Tucson both of which has helped them make many “best of” lists, including Yelp’s 2022 “Top 100 Places to Eat in Texas” and Eater’s “31 Essential Food Trucks in Austin.”

It is clear that their approach continues to win over Austinites one bite at a time.

Miguel Kaiser, an alum of NYC’s Per Se where he continued his culinary training, and Zulma Nataren, a hospitality expert, founded T-LOC’s Sonoran Hot Dogs in order to bring their elevated street food culinary experience to the live music capital of the world.

After deciding on the Sonoran Hot Dog concept and authentic Mexican food staples, Miguel and Zulma set-off to do some research. They booked a trip to Hermosillo, Sonora to experience first-hand the street dogs in their native land. They then refined the concept, experimenting with the flavors but not the authenticity until they felt they had a winning recipe.
